  • +/No excuses pls!

If someone was to ask you what makes you proud?  What have you achieved?  What of your goals have you accomplished?  Would you be able to answer truthfully?  Would you be able to say something worthwhile?  If you had to be accountable for the life you have lived, would you have something to show for the years that you have been given?

If you only had tomorrow, or a month, or even a year?  Would that convince you to try harder?  To be all that you can be? Would it finally get you off your ass and make something of yourself?  Or would you sit and feel sorry for yourself?  Would you be lazy and whine and promise to get on with it? Or would you take control of your own life?

Did you know that within all of us lies all that we can be?  No one, not even one has an excuse to procrastinate.  The only person you are fooling is yourself if you think that there are really setbacks in this world.  I have seen people with no limbs drive, no feet yet they can run.  I have seen blind people read.  If people who are handicapped can overcome it all, then pray tell what excuse you have?

So next time you set a goal, please complete it, because the only person you are letting down is yourself.  The only person who is losing out is you!  I am telling you Zeliah, you need to stop mopping around.  This way of life is not helping you, so set your goals then follow through.  Don't be too easy on yourself, because any excuse is lame, in fact one definition of excuse is to free yourself of obligation, isn't that insane?  You are responsible for yourself or did you forget that???

There you go.  Now you know why I have been busy.  I've been lecturing myself about my own procrastination.  I decided today that I would make a list of everything I wanted to achieve in a year, starting with what I want to achieve each month.  Try it for yourself, and then complete them, set realistic goals, and follow through. I'll post my list on my next entry. Goodluck to everyone.

Cliff Notes Zeliah review I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Cliff for his very kind review.  I started going to Cliffs site almost 6 months ago, and I often go there because he has so many software reviews, and downloads, and wait for it they are all FREE! and useful, and that, for a geek girl like me is like a child in a candy store. So go and have a look at his site, because there is something for anyone who has a computer.  Go check quick, tell him I sent you and I'm sure he will even give you a hot drink and a comfy seat while you browse around.

I was just writing this entry when I get an email from a dear friend and its amazing how the sweetest of words can lift spirits.  Take the time to email someone you love, a relative or a friend and make them smile.  It really does make a difference.  I know I asked you all to do a lot of things in this entry, but what can I tell you I am demanding!  Now pat your head and rub your tummy and hop on one leg with your eyes crossed (he! he! I'm just kidding )  After that witty interlude I am off to check on all of you.  I missed reading your entries.  I mean it, most of you have better social lives than me.  (first goal ---> improve se....uhmmm I meant social life.

i really wish i could do that .. i'm sure i can when i'm back with my baby ...

on my deathbed, if someone asked me what i'm most proud of, i hope i can say that i was able to take the best care of my gal and provide her with all the love in the world that she needed .. that would make me most proud ... oh and maybe being as good a father as Z is a mother! =p

have a good week ahead Z!

  • most people procrastinate for both what should be done and what should be done under their obligations like homework or working hard. Often people can't visualize the benefits of doing the hard thing now for future reward and want the reward at the moment they desire.

  • I tend to procratinate alot myself! I need to work ALOT harder on that.. I think I will no wait I KNOW I will  thank Zeliah

  • I procrastinate a lot.  It's terrible.  The only time I don't procrastinate is when someone else is depending on me, which is kind of funny- when someone else depends on me I try hard, but when I'm the only one depending on me I'm lazy and don't try as hard, I really should change that and try my best all the time
I think I'll make a list of goals... I've done it before.  It really does help- it's amazing.  Plus, I like to make lists (lol yes, I am a nerd)   Good luck with accomplishing your goals!

ryc- LOL yes, the rates do seem awfully high for that song.

    I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

  • I was just thinking about my goals/objectives, and how to obtain them before I came across your xanga. Yes, procrastination is a disease-a contagious one...lol. I don't know why people procrasinate when it makes it much harder for them when they could have gotten off their ass and be more productive instead. I hope your weekend is going well.

  • i know my basic goals. still have no clue what i want to do with my life, but i'm pretty confident that things will turn out for the better. procrastination is still my friend, so yea. scared to let him go - i love him! =( hahaha. i guess i've always procrastinated - and i if don't procrastinate - i'm extremely anal about things - so i think everyone is actually much happier when i procrastinate. i can never keep things on a regular based schedule. i've tried organizing and scheduling - never was able to keep up with everything - i get easily distracted....

good luck though. hopefully you'll last longer then i did

  • heheeh

i made a goals list i will see if i will post that up pretty soon

  • I enjoyed this post greatly.

  • Hi Zel, king of procrastination here. Thanks for the advice. Thanks also for the nice review you gave my xanga site. It started out as a place to put links to software I like and then I thought I should share it with all the world. (hahaha, delusions of granduer) One other thing. Advice from a relatively unsocial person with a good se.. (oops) social life. Don't go looking, the best relationships are like rain from heaven. Unexpected and un-asked for. Acckk! Pay no attention to me, except when I talk about software. LOL

  • Hey sis! Afew months ago, I chose to not procrastinate like I have in the past. I start my volunteer work tomorrow and I so happy about it! It's kinda of like personal mentor thing.

Just wanted to see how you're doing? Hope to chat with you soon.  Love you.

  • hey.. good one.. really got me thinking.. ive been very complacent with my life.. and i never actually set goals for myself.. but i guess i hav to.. and ive gotta stop procrastinating.. cause at the end of the day.. im inflicting problems to myself.. and there shouldnt be anyone to blame for this. :) ehhehe..

  • This is so true... thanks!!~ I think i better stop procastinating.. and eripmav's blog is so funny!!~ have a great day!!~

  • procastination...I do this all too often.  Probably too often for my own good.  Whoops!

"Take the time to email someone you love, a relative or a friend and make them smile."

EVERYONE should do this on a daily basis!

*cough*  what is this so social life you speak of?  hehe ;)
